What is the Occult and Religious Iconography
Research Network?

The Purpose of the Network
Community

The Occult and Religious Iconography Research Network was founded to bring together likeminded academics in the fields of occult and religious iconography and semiotics. The network is a virtual collaborative platform to promote the study of both occult and religious symbolism. The research network actively encourages members to pose ideas for virtual events to share knowledge and explore the possibilities of study in this field.

Goals and our Future

The goal of this network is to actively promote the importance of iconography as a research area and to demonstrate the rich bodies of work being conducted on a daily basis by researchers in both occult and religious studies. As the research network grows the intention is to collaborate on projects together as well as establish panel talks at conferences in relevant fields advancing the profile of members research.

The Team

The Occult and Religious Iconography Research Network was founded by Jerry Moore. Jerry is a costume academic who lectures at Arts University Plymouth and is currently in the final stages of his PhD in Art History focusing on the use of occult and religious semiotics in costume for the screen. As the network grows the research network will actively encourage more voluntary positions in the running of the group and research outcomes.
